Football star Gareth Bale is expected to sign with LAFC. He will sign with the Major League Soccer club when his contract with Real Madrid expires.
The 32-year-old had previously been linked with Cardiff. He said goodbye to Real Madrid in a social media post.
Bale is the latest aging football star to come to MLS to play at the end of his career.
LAFC has yet to announce the signing. However, on Friday night, the team posted a GIF.
In the video, he showed an LAFC hat in a box. The box bore an LAFC international postal stamp. However, the shipping location was unclear.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Athletic report that the deal is initially a one-year contract.
Then the parties have the option of adding 18 months to the agreement.
Bale spent eight combined seasons with Real Madrid. He also spent time with Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.
He was on loan at Tottenham Hotspur in the 2020-21 season. Bale returned to Real Madrid in 2021-22.
The Welsh winger is considered one of the greatest football players in the country.
He played 176 matches for Real Madrid, including 149 starts. He scored 81 goals and assisted on 40 goals.
Bale has scored 140 goals in his career with all three teams.
